Milanto began with an evening ritual: a candle lit at dusk, a pot of tea warmed slowly, a table cleared. From that small ceremony grew a small house — a collection of objects made to compose the same quiet hour, wherever you happen to be.
Made slowly, by a few careful hands.
Our candles are hand-poured in small batches in the American Southwest, using vegetable wax and cotton wicks. Our teas are selected leaf by leaf from small growers we know by name. Our tableware is turned in ateliers in Portugal, France and Japan.
Nothing here is produced quickly. Nothing here is meant to be used quickly.

Every gift set begins as a pairing. A jasmine tea meets a jasmine candle. A smoked amber wax meets a black tea from Yunnan. The candle sets the room; the tea sets the pace. One is designed to complete the other.
It is the way we think a table should be composed — like a good piece of music, with instruments that agree.
